Senior photos at Elizabeth Park are exactly what they sound like: dreamy, golden, and full of the kind of magic that makes you want to hit pause on senior year. When Ella reached out to book her session, I already knew this one was going to be special. A few years ago, I had the honor of photographing her sister Kate at this very same park. Getting to come back and do it all again for Ella? That’s the part of this job that genuinely fills me up.
And Ella did not disappoint. She was this amazing combination of cool, gorgeous, interesting, and completely laid-back, the kind of girl who is just as smart and fun to talk to as she is photogenic. The kind of senior who makes every single frame feel effortless. Genuinely herself from start to finish, and that always shows in the images.
Why Senior Photos at Elizabeth Park Are a Dream

I have to be honest: Elizabeth Park in Hartford, Connecticut is one of the most gorgeous locations I photograph in all of Connecticut. It’s the kind of place that makes you stop mid-session just to take it in.
When I photographed Kate here a few years ago, the roses were in bloom. The park had this lush, romantic, soft quality that matched her session perfectly. When I came back for Ella, the tulips had taken over. Rows of orange, pink, yellow, and red blazing in the late afternoon sun. Same park, completely different magic. That’s what I love about Elizabeth Park. It gives you something extraordinary every single time you show up.
For Ella’s session, we hit the timing just right. The tulips were at their peak, the light was warm and golden, and we had the whole park to explore across two outfits. I’ll also be honest: the tulip garden was packed that evening. More people than I expected, and I was definitely more stressed about it than Ella was. She was completely unfazed. Just rolled with it, laughed it off, and looked absolutely stunning in every frame. That kind of energy makes my job easy. Elizabeth Park doesn’t just give you a backdrop. It gives you an entire experience.
Two Outfits, One Perfect Evening

Ella came with two looks, and both were absolutely her. First up: a white fitted top and wide-leg jeans, casual, cool, and effortlessly confident. She carried a small bunch of baby’s breath, and that little detail of softness against the greenhouse brickwork? Perfect.
For her second outfit, she changed into a white lace maxi dress. In the tulip fields, in the garden, walking barefoot through the pergola at golden light, she was stunning. The dress moved beautifully, the light wrapped around her, and honestly, I couldn’t shoot a bad frame if I tried.
That’s what senior photos at Elizabeth Park can give you: so many different looks, backdrops, and moments, all within one golden evening.
What It Feels Like to Be Truly Guided

Ella was a natural, but I also want to be clear: this is the process working. I guide every senior through every moment of her session: where to stand, how to hold her hands, when to look away, when to laugh. Nobody should feel awkward in front of the camera. Nobody does once we settle in.
So when you see Ella lying in the purple ground flowers looking completely relaxed, or spinning barefoot through the pergola with baby’s breath in hand, that’s not luck. That’s what happens when a senior feels safe, seen, and genuinely herself. That’s the whole goal. Every single time.
To Ella,
I hope you have had a great senior year. Getting to photograph you at Elizabeth Park was such a gift, especially knowing your sister Kate. You were so easy to be with and so much fun. I am cheering you on as you finish high school and step into all the exciting things ahead. xo
