Jayden is exactly the kind of high school senior that makes me remember why I do this. I am Linda Sobolewski, a Connecticut shoreline photographer based out of Old Saybrook, CT. I specializing in high school seniors and I’ve had the honor of photographing so many incredible girls over the years. But every once in a while, someone walks into a session and just stays with you long after the evening is over. Jayden was that person. My heart was genuinely full after spending time with her.
She had this quality that is hard to put into words. Calm, easy-going, deeply smart, sweet, and genuinely funny. I found out partway through our session that she is a writer, and honestly, that explained everything. There is a depth to people who pay careful attention to the world. It shows in how they carry themselves. And it came through in every single frame.
Why I Love Being a High School Senior Photographer in Connecticut

Connecticut gives us so much to work with. I have been shooting at Elizabeth Park in Hartford for years, and it never gets old. But for Jayden’s session, I got there early and walked the grounds before she arrived. I wanted to find some fresh angles, some spots I had not used quite the same way before.
And I found them. A butterfly mural tucked along the brick wall gave us something unexpected and completely her own. The daffodil fields were blooming in soft white clusters. The lilacs were out. And then there were the tulips: rows of red, orange, and pink blazing in the late afternoon sun. So much beauty in one place. But I will be honest with you. Jayden stole the show.
The Session: Light, Flowers, and a Girl Who Shines

We started by the greenhouse, which is always one of my favorite places to photograph at Elizabeth Park. The white arches, brick walkways, and flowers make such a beautiful backdrop.
As we walked through the gardens, we stopped wherever the light caught my eye. At one point, I had Jayden sit down in the daffodils, and I just loved how those photos turned out. She has such a genuine smile, and you can see it throughout the whole session.
Before we wrapped up, we took a few black-and-white portraits. I always love including a handful of black-and-whites because they have such a timeless feel.
What It Looks Like to Work with the Right High School Senior Photographer in Connecticut

A session like Jayden’s does not happen by accident. It comes from showing up early, learning the location, reading the light, and then genuinely connecting with the person in front of the camera. I guide every senior through every moment of her session: where to stand, how to move, when to be still and let the light do its thing.
But with Jayden, there was also something else. When I know I am with a senior who pays attention to the world the way she does, I give her room to feel it. And she did. That is what you are seeing in these images
