When you’re expecting a baby, it’s natural to focus most of your attention on the newborn stage. Those first days feel fleeting and important. But pregnancy itself is a short, meaningful season too, and it often goes undocumented. That’s why booking a maternity and newborn session together makes so much sense.
Together, they tell the full story.

A Maternity and Newborn Session Captures the Before and After
A maternity session documents the quiet anticipation. The way you held your belly. The waiting. The imagining. A newborn session captures the arrival and those early days of settling into life with your baby.
When you book both sessions, you’re preserving both chapters, not just the ending. Years from now, having images from both seasons will matter more than you might expect.

A Short, Easy Maternity Option When You Book Newborn
Many parents love the idea of maternity photos but don’t want a long or formal session, especially late in pregnancy. That’s exactly why I offer a Petite Maternity Session when a newborn session is booked.
The Petite Maternity Session is a relaxed, half-hour session designed to feel easy and manageable. It focuses on natural connection rather than posing and gives you beautiful images of this season without another big commitment on your calendar.
When booked as part of a maternity and newborn session, the Petite Maternity Session is $500.

Planning Both Sessions Reduces Stress Later
Booking a maternity and newborn session at the same time means one less decision to make after your baby arrives. Your maternity session is scheduled during the ideal window late in pregnancy, and your newborn session stays flexible around your baby’s birth.
Once your baby is here, everything is already taken care of.

Consistency and Comfort Matter
Using the same photographer for both these session means your images will flow beautifully together in style and tone. You’ll also feel more comfortable during your newborn session, which always leads to more natural, meaningful photos.
If you’re already planning a newborn session, adding a maternity session is a simple way to document the entire journey. You can find full details about booking a maternity and newborn session on my website, and I’m always happy to answer questions as you plan.
