There is nothing like a big family photo session and this past fall I had the most fun photographing this wonderful bunch. This family is special to me because I have known one of the moms in this family for many years now, and photographed her family several times now. This big family photo session was a very generous and loving gift to the grandparents!
My main goal with any big family photo session is to get the coveted “big group shot” first. After that, I break it down into individual family shots, cousins, adult siblings, grandparents with grandchildren, and then of course the grandparents themselves.
We had a chilly but sunny afternoon at the park in Madison CT. With six kids, four of them under the age of 5, I kept this big family photo session moving quickly to capture all the combinations. This group was such an amazing and loving family. It was heartwarming to see all the cousins together, and to see how close and supportive this whole family was.
I have done many extended family sessions this past year. They are all so wonderful and really capture such special moments in time. There is always so much laughter and playfulness and they have become some of my favorite sessions to shoot. I hope you enjoy seeing a peek at my time with this great family. As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
