A few weeks ago, my family spent a wonderful week in beautiful Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The Cape is very special to us. Before my husband and I even got married, we would take yearly weekend trips to the Cape. Once we were married and had our girls, we started the tradition of renting a cottage there every summer.
Memories of The Cape
We have so many fond memories of our yearly Cape Cod vacations. The main goal on these yearly get-aways, was to relax and slow down from our busy lives. We usually didn’t do much more than spend time at the beach, eat good food, play cards, do jigsaw puzzles, and relax. It was rejuvenating. Of course, we did take time to run out for some Cape Cod ice cream and fudge, and a bowl of creamy New England clam chowder! We sometimes would play a round of miniature golf, and a couple of times we even rode the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Many summers we attended Cape Cod baseball games, which were always so much fun!
Yes, we love The Cape. The air smells better in the Cape. The water is softer, and clean. For us, it is quintessential summer in New England.
This year was the first year, in a long time, that my girls were both able to be with us for most of the week. It was very special and we had so much fun. Again, we didn’t do much more than spend time at the beach, eat lots of good food, relax and connect.
I did bring my camera and grabbed a few highlights of our week. I hope you enjoy taking a peek and thanks for stopping by the blog! <3
