Recently, I met up with this very sweet and very special family of four for a family photoshoot here in Old Saybrook. They are one of the first families I ever photographed when I went into business three years ago. And I have to say that they were just as easy and beautiful this time as they were then.
Due to busy schedules and weather, we ended up having to postpone their photoshoot a few times. It was well worth the wait, because we had the most gorgeous weather with pretty golden light.
My new fave location for a family photoshoot.
We started at Founder’s Memorial Park in Old Saybrook to get some portraits, with the intention of heading over to the beach afterward for more candid photos. However, we ended up never leaving this little gem of a park, and I have to say this is one of my new favorite locations for photos! Lots of trees with pretty light filtering through, flowers, and a stone wall overlooking the Old Saybrook marinas, all made for a beautiful backdrop for this family photoshoot.
It melted my heart see how these two kids have grown. Their daughter is in high school now, and has become such a beautiful and poised young woman. Their son has the same happy disposition and million dollar smile as last time. 🙂
I always try and grab a photo of just the mom and dad alone – no kids! It’s often the only time this happens, and it’s always such a treat to see enduring love from behind my lens. After all, before they were mom and dad, they were husband and wife, and these are usually end up being some of my favorites images.
