Earlier this summer, I had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful group for an extended family photo session. We met on beautiful July afternoon for a family portrait session, at their home in the Knollwood section of Old Saybrook, CT.
This family’s patriarch had just turned 80, and what better way to mark the occasion, than with a special birthday party, and portraits of the whole family together. Many of the extended family photo sessions I’ve done have been because the whole family has gotten together for a special milestone birthday. Often times, family members are traveling from other states to be there, so it’s very special to have all the generations together. There is probably never a better time to have professional photos taken, than at a special event such as this. And what a special event this was!
Extended Family Photo Session
I love extended family sessions, not only because they are a terrific way of capturing an entire family but also because I love seeing the dynamics of the smaller groups too, siblings, grandkids, cousins…it’s so fun! Extended family photo session are so wonderful, and they really capture such special moments in time. There is always so much playfulness and laughter and they are some of my favorite sessions to shoot. I hope you enjoy seeing a peek at my time with this great family. <3
