If you’re searching for Connecticut Shoreline senior pictures, Hailey’s session is a beautiful example of just how much variety you can have in one evening. Her session included natural backdrops, wildflowers, warm golden light, and of course, the beach at sunset. I’m Linda Sobolewski, a Connecticut senior photographer specializing in natural, colorful senior portraits along the Connecticut shoreline and surrounding areas.

Hailey and her mom traveled down from Massachusetts for her Connecticut Shoreline senior pictures and made a little getaway out of it, spending the night here on the shoreline. I love when families make senior pictures part of an experience like this. I was so happy they chose to make the trip to Connecticut for her beach session.

So Much Variety in One Connecticut Shoreline Senior Session

When seniors tell me they want the beach, I usually look for ways to give them more than just the water and sand. I love incorporating natural areas, pretty pathways, rustic fences, fields and flowers before finishing at the shoreline as the sun gets lower.

I’ve spent a lot of time finding locations that photograph beautifully and work well together. I help each of my seniors decide which locations will give them the look and variety they want for their session.

For Hailey, we started with some of the natural areas nearby. We worked our way toward the beach as sunset approached. It gave her gallery such a pretty mix while still having that relaxed summer feel throughout.

Three Senior Picture Outfits

Hailey brought three outfits, and they were perfect for the different parts of her session. Each one had a completely different feel, which gave us even more variety as we moved from one setting to the next.

We started with Hailey in a pretty blue smocked top paired with white pants and sandals. It was casual but still polished, and the soft blue looked beautiful against all the greenery.

We used some of the rustic fencing, pathways, grasses, and natural areas for this part of her session. Hailey also had a small bouquet of baby’s breath, which added such a pretty touch to a few of these portraits.

It’s a great example of how a senior outfit doesn’t have to be complicated to photograph beautifully. Sometimes a simple top and pants in great colors are all you need.

Pink Dress and Cowboy Boots

For her second look, Hailey changed into a soft pink dress and cowboy boots, and I loved this combination!

We photographed this outfit among the wildflowers and tall grasses as the light was getting warmer and softer. The pink was so pretty against all the greens and golden tones. The boots added a little personality and kept the whole look from feeling too dressy.

This ended up being such a fun look for the middle of her session and completely different from both her first outfit and what we had planned for the beach.

A Long White Dress for the Beach

For Hailey’s final outfit, she changed into a long white tiered dress before we headed down to the beach.

Long, flowy dresses are always one of my favorite choices for beach senior pictures. They give us beautiful movement and look so pretty against the sand, water, and softer colors of the shoreline.

Hailey’s white dress was perfect for walking along the water, sitting in the sand, and eventually getting right into the water at the end of the session.

We also had a gorgeous sunset that night. The sky softened into the pretty colors as the sun went down, giving us a beautiful ending to her session

Why I Love Being a Connecticut Senior Portrait Photographer

Living and working along the Connecticut shoreline gives me access to some beautiful settings for senior portraits. But what I love most is the variety.

When you tell me you want beach senior pictures, that doesn’t necessarily mean your entire gallery needs to be photographed standing in the sand. Depending on the location we choose, we can incorporate greenery, flowers, fields, pathways, and other natural backdrops before ending at the water.

I also plan the order of your outfits around our locations and the light. That way, the entire session flows together. We save those beautiful beach portraits for later in the evening when the light is softest.

Hailey, you are such a beautiful girl, but what I loved most was getting to know the person behind that pretty smile. You have such a calm, easygoing way about you, along with a sweet, giving nature and a fun side that I loved getting to see throughout our evening together.

Senior Session FAQ

How many outfits should I bring to my senior session?

Most of my senior girls bring three to four outfits. I recommend choosing a mix of casual and dressier options so we can create different looks throughout your session. Hailey’s three outfits are a perfect example of how different clothing choices can add even more variety to your gallery.

Can I have both natural settings and the beach in my senior pictures?

Absolutely. Depending on the location, we can often incorporate several different types of backdrops into one session. I plan the timing carefully so we can take advantage of natural settings earlier in the evening and still make it to the beach for that beautiful end-of-day light.

Will you help me decide what to wear for my senior pictures?

Yes! Every senior receives my Senior Style + Planning Guide. I encourage my seniors to send me photos of their outfits before their session. I’m always happy to offer suggestions and help decide which outfits will work best with each setting.
