As a Connecticut senior portrait photographer serving seniors throughout the Connecticut shoreline and surrounding areas, I love creating sessions that give my seniors plenty of variety while still feeling natural and relaxed. For Claire’s senior session, we started at a beautiful park setting before heading to the beach, giving us two completely different looks in one evening. If you’re looking for a Connecticut senior portrait photographer, Claire’s session is a perfect example of how we can combine different locations, outfits, and backdrops to create a beautiful and varied senior gallery.
A Park + Beach Senior Session

Claire chose a park and beach combination for her senior pictures, and I loved everything about this session. We started in a pretty natural setting with tall grasses, wildflowers, rustic fences and pathways before heading to the shoreline for sunset.
I’ve spent a lot of time finding locations that photograph beautifully and work well together, and I help each of my seniors decide which locations will give them the look and variety they want for their session.
And Claire was absolutely stunning! She has the prettiest hair, and when that warm evening light started coming through behind her, it was just gorgeous.
Claire is also an athlete and plays lacrosse, but her style for her senior pictures was simple, pretty, feminine and classic. She is incredibly photogenic and was so easy and fun to photograph.
Her mom came along for the evening too, and I absolutely loved having her there. She was wonderful, and after spending time with the two of them, it was easy to see where Claire gets her sweet personality from.
Three Outfits That Were Perfect for Claire

Claire brought three outfits, and I loved every single one. Her choices were simple, feminine and classic, and they worked so beautifully with the different settings we used.
We started with a soft blue sleeveless top paired with white pants and simple sandals. I loved the eyelet detail on the top, and that pretty shade of blue was gorgeous with Claire’s coloring and hair.
It was casual but still polished, and it worked perfectly with the rustic fences, paths and wildflowers at the beginning of her session. This is such a good example of how a simple outfit can photograph beautifully without needing to be overly styled.
A Pretty Blue Floral Dress

Next, Claire changed into the prettiest light blue and white floral dress. This one was so feminine and sweet on her, and I loved photographing it among the grasses and flowers.
The little flutter sleeves and soft floral print added just enough detail without taking any attention away from Claire. And once that gorgeous golden light started coming through behind her hair, everything came together so beautifully.
A White Eyelet Dress for the Beach

We saved Claire’s white eyelet dress for the beach, and it could not have been more perfect. The ruffled straps, eyelet texture and easy shape gave us some movement while still keeping that simple, classic look that suited Claire so well.
White dresses are always beautiful at the beach, especially at sunset, and Claire’s looked gorgeous against the warm beach grasses, sand and water.
We finished right at the shoreline as the sun was setting. Claire kicked off her shoes and went right into the water, and those final images were the perfect way to end her session.
What I especially loved about Claire’s outfits was that none of them were complicated or overly styled. They were simply pretty, classic choices that looked like her. With three outfits and two different settings, we were still able to create so much variety in her final gallery.
Why I Love Being a Connecticut Senior Portrait Photographer

To Claire,
Claire, I absolutely loved photographing you! You are stunning and incredibly photogenic, but you are also so sweet, kind and fun to be around. I loved getting to know you a little better and hearing about lacrosse and your senior year. Your simple, pretty style was perfect for you, and you looked absolutely beautiful in every single outfit.
I also loved spending the evening with your mom. She is pretty amazing, and after meeting her, I can definitely see where you get it from.
Thank you for trusting me with your senior pictures and for spending such a beautiful evening with me. I hope you love these photos and that you’ll always be able to look back at them and remember this time in your life. Have an amazing senior year! xo
Senior Session FAQ
How many outfits should I bring to my senior session?
Most of my senior girls bring three to four outfits. I recommend a mix of casual and dressier options so we can create different looks throughout your session. Claire’s three outfits are a perfect example. Each one was different, but they all worked beautifully together and felt like her.
Can we do both park and beach senior pictures?
Yes, depending on the locations. A park and beach combination is one of my favorite options because it gives you two completely different settings in one session. I carefully plan the timing so we can start at the first location and still arrive at the beach in time for that beautiful evening light.
Can we do both park and beach senior pictures?
Absolutely! My seniors receive a detailed style and planning guide, and I also encourage them to send me photos of their outfits before their session. I’m always happy to help decide which pieces will photograph best and which outfits will work best at each location.
If you’re looking for a Connecticut senior portrait photographer, I’d love to photograph your senior year! Whether you love the beach, fields and flowers, a pretty park setting, or want a combination like Claire chose, I’ll help you plan the locations and outfits that fit the look you want for your senior pictures
