Fall Family Sessions at Bauer Park in Madison, CT | Linda Sobolewski Photography

Senior

If you’re looking for the perfect location for fall family sessions at Bauer Park in Madison, CT, you’ll quickly see why it’s one of my favorite places to photograph families year after year. Located on the Connecticut shoreline in Madison, Bauer Park offers beautiful walking paths, colorful trees, a charming covered bridge, open fields, and some of the prettiest fall foliage in the area.

I’m Linda Sobolewski, a nationally published and award-winning Connecticut shoreline family photographer based in Old Saybrook. I specialize in creating light-filled, natural family portraits that capture genuine connection and joyful moments. If you’re hoping for beautiful fall family photos, Bauer Park is one of my favorite locations to recommend.

If you’re wondering what Bauer Park looks like throughout the fall season, be sure to read my blog post, What to Expect with Fall Photo Sessions with Linda Sobolewski Photography. It features photos taken at Bauer Park over many years and shows how the park changes week by week from early October through early November. It’s a wonderful guide if you’re trying to decide the best time for your family’s fall photo session.

One of the reasons I return to Bauer Park every fall is the incredible variety it offers. Within a short walk, we can photograph your family beneath colorful trees, on the covered wooden bridge, along winding paths. There is also a rustic barn and open grassy areas filled with beautiful late day light.

No two sessions ever look exactly alike because the park changes throughout the season. Early October brings touches of color, mid-October is often filled with vibrant reds and golds, and early November offers softer tones with leaves covering the ground. Every stage has its own beauty.

Many parents tell me they’re worried about getting everyone to smile or that their children won’t cooperate.

The good news is they don’t have to.

My family sessions are relaxed and movement-based. We’ll walk, laugh, play games, cuddle, and let your family simply enjoy being together. We will get the posed shots for the Christmas cards, but some of my favorite images happen in those unscripted moments when no one is even looking at the camera. They will probably be yours too.

My goal is for your gallery to tell the story of your family just as you are today.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons for clothing because it’s easy to coordinate without everyone matching exactly.

Soft neutrals, creams, camel, olive, rust, burgundy, navy, and warm earth tones all photograph beautifully against the colorful foliage. Sweaters, textured fabrics, boots, and layers add warmth and dimension to your images while keeping the focus on your family.

When you book a session with Linda Sobolewski Photography, I will send you a What To Wear Guide. Together we will choose what looks best for your family.

One of the best things about Bauer Park is that it’s beautiful throughout the entire fall season. Whether your session is in early October, peak foliage in late October, or even early November, the park provides a gorgeous backdrop.
