A Connecticut Beach Senior Session for Finn
Finn’s session had the best mix of locations at the beach we used. Boardwalk, beach, and those golden hour grassy dunes that always photograph like a dream. I love beaches for senior sessions because it gives us so much variety without having to drive all over the place. We can get that classic coastal look, plus a little texture with the wood beams and natural scenery.
Finn showed up with great outfits, trusted me completely, and had the best energy. He was fun and funny the whole time, which made the session feel effortless. And honestly, that is when the best photos happen.
Outfit Ideas for Guys That Look Great on Camera
One of my favorite things about Finn’s session is how classic and well styled his outfits were. He had a polished casual look, a slightly dressier outfit, and then the beach look at the end. It was the perfect variety without feeling overdone.
For senior boys, I always recommend:
Neutral tones like blues, greens, tans, and whites
Clean layers like a jacket or sweater
One dressier option if they want a more elevated look
Barefoot beach photos at sunset if the vibe fits
Finn nailed all of this. His outfits felt natural, photographed beautifully, and will still look timeless years from now.
Why I Love Photographing Senior Boys
Senior boys are so underrated when it comes to portraits. A lot of them come in thinking they are going to hate it, and then halfway through, they are laughing and relaxing and realizing it is actually fun and not awkward at all. That is always my goal. Keep it easy, keep it natural, and create images that feel like them.
Finn is such a great example of that. This session did not feel stiff or overly posed. It felt relaxed, confident, and real, and that is exactly how senior photos should feel.
