I recently had the honor of being the Guilford CT newborn photographer for this sweet new family of three. This beautiful mama was due to have her baby the end of March, so imagine my surprise when she called to let me know the baby arrived 5 weeks early! I guess this precious little boy just couldn’t wait to meet his family. 🙂

Baby Nathaniel was only 5 days old when I visited for this family’s lifestyle newborn session. His mama wanted to capture just how tiny he was in his very early days. With his umbilical cord still attached, I was obsessed with how utterly sweet and precious this baby was. My mom always called brand new babies “fresh from heaven”, and that was certainly the case here.

A highlight from the session was meeting the family dog, Willa. It was so sweet to watch Willa be so gentle and loving with her new baby brother.

Lifestyle newborn sessions are different from posed newborn photography because the focus is more on the emotion and connection of the new family. Of course, mom and dad were over the moon in love with their new baby, and I loved my time with them. Families with new babies are often in their own little bubble. Being a Guilford CT newborn photographer means I have the privilege to step inside and observe this intimate time in the life of a family.

It was very difficult narrowing down which images to share because there were so many good ones. I hope you enjoy taking a look at my time with this special new family of three, and their dog Willa. <3
