You’ve booked your family photo session. Great! But, what if it rains? One of the most asked questions I receive is “What happens if it rains on the day of my photo shoot?” And with very good reason. Connecticut weather is very unpredictable, especially this past summer. Sometimes, even the weather apps can’t get it right!

I find this to be a particular issue if your family is together for only a short period of time, such as a family reunion, or vacation. Well, you can rest assured that the days leading up to your photo session with me, I will be keeping a very close eye on the weather.

Ok, so what happens if it rains on the day of my photo shoot?

Weather forecasts are always changing, so I almost always wait until the actual day of your session to make any decisions. Even days that are raining may clear up, often making for beautiful and dramatic skies!

I will continue to watch the forecast, and even the radar. If it looks like it will definitely be raining, lightening or thundering during your outdoor photo session, we will then reschedule to the first mutually available date. I always build extra days into my schedule just for this purpose. If your family is together for only a week, we will still get your photo session in. No worries!

Of course, ideally it would be great if we have a perfect, sunny day. However, since we can’t control the weather, we will work with it. Your photos will come out amazing, no matter what!
