Early last month, I had the honor and privilege of doing a big family photo shoot for a very special family. It was the celebration of the long awaited introduction of this family’s new granddaughter to her US family, and a reunion after the pandemic.
We had a beautiful afternoon at the grandparent’s lovely home in Mystic, CT, overlooking the CT river. Oftentimes, it’s best to have your big family photo shoot within the comforts of your own home. Extended families are often getting together for a reunion, or to celebrate a milestone. I am hired to come there to photograph the multiple generations at one session.
Their new granddaughter had just turned one, and despite the jet lag from traveling all the way from Japan, was just as sweet as could be. After I got all the big group shots, I captured images of this adorable little peanut with her grandparents. They waited a long time to meet their very first grandchild, and the photos of grandma with her new little granddaughter are some of my favorites.
Extended family sessions are so wonderful and they really capture such special moments in time. There is always so much playfulness and laughter and they are some of my favorite sessions to shoot. I hope you enjoy seeing a peek at my time with this great family. There were so many good ones. <3
