Last year I blogged all about a wonderful weekend getaway my husband and I took to beautiful Lake Winnepesaukee, New Hampshire. Last year we had perfect weather and spent most of our time boating, kayaking, swimming and relaxing on the lake.
This was a little different, because this year it rained the entire time we were there! We did go for a short boat ride when we first arrived, before the skies opened up. There was also a small window of time where the rain stopped, and we took a quick paddle around the lake.
But it didn’t matter. It was still a wonderful weekend getaway. My husband and I spent an afternoon shopping in downtown Wolfeboro, then stopped for coffee and dessert at the cutest little coffee shop. Like last year we grilled at home, and had a nice dinner out with friends. Weekend getaways are necessary, refreshing and good for the soul.
Here are a few photos I took while we were there. I love photos that scream summer such as these. Kayaks strewn around the lake, waiting to be taken out again. Wooden sheds overflowing with life jackets, paddles, and summer toys. And a couple of Adirondack chairs facing the water, inviting you to have a seat and just enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by the blog and enjoy your summer! <3
