Back on a mild and sunny February afternoon, I had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful group for an extended family photo session, at their home in Madison, CT. It was the special 80th birthday celebration that brought this family together, from different parts of the country.
Adding family photos to a family get-together is a great way to remember a special time together. And this was certainly a very special time for this family. The whole gang celebrated with a special dinner and party for their mom/grandmother the night before. Scroll down to see her individual portrait – she looks absolutely amazing!
Extended Family Photos
I love extended family photo sessions. Not only are they a terrific way of capturing an entire family, but also because I love seeing the dynamics of the smaller groups too, siblings, grandkids, cousins. It’s so fun!
When you schedule an extended family session, you can expect to get those important group photos of the entire family. But also you can expect individual family portraits, as well as cousins, grandparents, adult siblings and any other combination. Financially, these sessions are a nice option, as there is often more than one family contributing to the cost of the session.
Extended family sessions are some of my favorite to shoot. There is always so much playfulness and laughter. I hope you enjoy seeing a peek at my time with this great family. <3
