I did it! I have completed my personal project for 2019 – Project 52. Every week, for the past 52 weeks, I posted an image a week to my Instagram account, with each month having a different theme. You may click on any of the following links to see the images for the corresponding month.
- January was “low light”.
- February was “storytelling“.
- March’s theme was “portraits”.
- April’s theme was “connections”.
- May was all about “layering”.
- June’s theme was “full sun”.
- July was “color theory”.
- August was all about “movement”.
- September was beautiful “nature”.
- October was my tough one “self-portraits”.
- And finally, November was “negative space.”
The theme for December, 2019 Project 52, was lovely “Bokeh.”
What is Bokeh? You know those little balls (or shapes) of light that look like they’re dancing lightly across the background of a photo? That’s called Bokeh, and is one of the most popular subjects in photography. The reason why it is so popular, is because Bokeh makes photographs visually appealing. Whether or not you’re aware of it, you’ve almost certainly happened upon bokeh. In other words, it’s that blurred background of an image you sometimes see.
Bokeh was certainly the perfect theme to end the year. Due to the fact that at Christmas time, bokeh is everywhere. I did do a couple of holiday themed images, but also tried to be more creative, with a cityscape and a couple of the melting snow.
Of course, my favorite is the one of my daughter looking through a window in downtown Essex. Scroll down to the bottom to see that one. Which one is your favorite? I’d love to know!
Thank you so much for following along on my 2019 personal project. Next week, I will post which were my favorites for the entire year. Any ideas what I should do for 2020?
