Last fall I took an excellent workshop that focused on High School Senior Photography through Click Photo School. I was very lucky to have a lovely high school senior girl be my model for this workshop. I am friends with her mom. The workshop was four weeks long and I met with Chloe once a week for photos. Chloe showed up every week, in a cute outfit, ready to do whatever I wanted. To thank Chloe for being my model, I told her I would photograph her and her friends together. So a couple of weeks ago, I did a session with 5 senior girls on the beach in Madison, CT. This may have been the most fun I ever had during a session!

As seniors at Daniel Hand High School in Madison, the Madison Surf Club is a popular place for the girls and their friends to hangout. When I asked Chloe where we should take these photos, this is where she wanted to go! It’s a great place too, because not only is there the beach, there is also a playground and fields. Lots of great places to take photos!
When I got there, the girls were dressed so cute, and waiting for me on the playground swings. We started with our photos there. The girls are good friends and very comfortable with each other. I could see this through my lens. When I asked them to act natural and laugh, they did so very easily. 🙂
After the swings, we moved over to the playground structure and had some fun there. Then we made out way down to the beach, stopping along the steps first. I know I keep repeating how awesome these girls are, because they really are! They moved and posed however I asked. They were silly and funny and made me laugh too. We had so much fun.
It started getting dark and I knew I wanted to get photos over on the fields, where Daniel Hand High School plays their home football games. The girls were great and up for anything I wanted. But before we ventured over there, I made sure to get some individual shots of these gorgeous young women. Be sure to scroll down to check these lovely ladies out.
Spending time with these five girls reminded me why I love photographing high school seniors so much. High school seniors are beautiful. They naturally seem to know how to pose for photos. They are also respectful and kind. High school seniors are happy and excited for their futures, and why shouldn’t they be?
