About CT Shoreline Photographer, Linda Sobolewski

My interests are simple: coffee, workouts, and being outdoors surrounded by beautiful scenery. There’s nothing like getting up early to photograph the sun rising over the CT shoreline. I enjoy taking high school senior portraits, lifestyle newborn photography, and capturing family gatherings in beautiful settings. My goal as a family photographer in Connecticut is to provide easy and comfortable portrait sessions as well as timeless, lasting images.

Maddie | Connecticut Shoreline Senior Portraits

Senior

It was March. It was chilly. Maddie had traveled all the way from Massachusetts for her session. And she showed up barefoot in a white maxi dress, standing in the water like it was the middle of July. Connecticut shoreline senior portraits don’t get much more stunning than that. That pretty much tells you everything you need to know about her.

Every now and then, a session comes along that I just can’t stop thinking about. Maddie’s was one of them.

From the very beginning, Maddie felt completely at ease. That’s not something I take for granted, because most seniors don’t start that way. It’s something I guide them into, step by step, so they never feel awkward or unsure of what to do.

With Maddie, it all just flowed. She moved naturally, trusted the process, and stayed present the entire time. The breeze off the water, her curls, the movement of that white dress… everything worked together without feeling forced.

We also spent some time near the docks, which gave us a completely different feel. Her jeans and fitted top, leaning against the weathered wood, laughing, throwing up a peace sign with her bouquet… those were some of my favorite moments because they felt so relaxed and so her.

She came prepared with outfits that gave us so much variety. The white dress on the shoreline, a soft yellow dress with tulips, a sage green look with a cardigan, and her casual outfit at the docks. Each one brought out a different side of her, but all of it still felt natural and true to who she is.

I photograph Connecticut shoreline senior portraits all the time, and every now and then the sky just shows off. That night was one of those nights. The soft pink and lavender tones came in just as Maddie stepped into the water, and her reflection in the sand pulled everything together in the most simple, beautiful way.

Standing barefoot in March water is not exactly comfortable, but she didn’t hesitate. She trusted me, stayed in the moment, and that’s exactly why those images feel the way they do.

Sessions like Maddie’s are a really good example of what’s possible with Connecticut shoreline senior portraits. When a senior trusts the process and lets themselves relax into it, everything shifts. The photos stop feeling posed, and they start to feel real. That’s always my goal.

I want every senior to walk away not just with beautiful images, but with photos that actually feel like them. Confident, natural, and comfortable in their own skin.

To Maddie, if you’re reading this, hi! I had the absolute best time with you on that chilly March beach. You are truly beautiful, inside and out, and that came through in every single frame. I know you are going to do incredible things in this next season of life, on the ice and beyond. I’m rooting for you every step of the way. XO
