Alex’s senior session at Harkness Park was the kind of shoot that reminds me why I love what I do. This location truly has it all, and as a CT senior photographer, it is one of my favorite places to photograph because we can create so much variety without ever feeling rushed. From the moment Alex stepped out, she looked gorgeous and confident, and she brought such a fun, easy energy to the whole session.

Why Harkness Park Is Perfect for Senior Portraits
Harkness is full of backdrops that photograph beautifully in every season. We used the cool doors, buildings, and textured walls first, then moved into the open golden fields and flowers for a softer, more natural look. It’s the kind of place where every few steps feels like a brand new set, and Alex absolutely owned every spot.
We finished in the fields and along the shoreline, where the sun dipped low and the light turned golden. Maddie laughed, twirled, and completely owned her moment, and it shows in every photo.

CT Senior Photographer Tips for a Relaxed, Confident Session
One of the best parts of Alex’s session was how willing she was to just go with it. She didn’t overthink anything. She trusted me to guide her, and she trusted herself, which is exactly how you end up with portraits that feel effortless and real. Alex has that perfect mix of strength and warmth, and you can tell she’s an athlete. As a soccer player, she has that steady confidence, but she also has a bright smile and a calm presence that made her photos feel timeless.
Golden Light, Fields, Flowers, and a Perfect Ending
We finished in the dreamiest light with the fields glowing around her and the flowers adding the prettiest texture. We also grabbed a few photos by the water at the end, just enough to capture that soft sunset magic without the beach being the whole story. The final gallery feels elevated, fun, and completely Alex.
Alex, I’m so proud of you and so grateful I got to photograph this season of your life. Wishing you the best senior year ever, and I know you’re going to do amazing things. xo
