Meet Kara, class of 2022! Recently, I had the honor to be this amazing young woman’s senior photographer in Old Lyme, CT. We met up on a beautiful late September afternoon at a local beach neighborhood in Old Lyme CT, where Kara and her family spend their summers. September is one of my favorite months for photo sessions because the light is always so perfect and golden and often has a dreamy quality to it.

Before we headed to the beach for sunset photos, we started at Kara’s home for some portraits. I was delighted to see a gazebo in the backyard! The late day light made for some great light and shadows in the gazebo, resulting in some of my favorite photos I captured this year.

Afterwards, we took a quick golf cart ride to their neighborhood beach as the sun was starting to set. I couldn’t help but notice how graceful Kara posed for me, so I asked her if she did any dancing. Well, when told me she studied ballet, I nearly died from excitiement! As the sun set, and the skies turned pink, I had Kara show me her different ballet moves right in the sand and water. Between how graceful Kara was, the pink skies behind her, and the warm temperatures, I felt like I was in a dream.

Kara, you are truly an amazing, sweet and beautiful girl, inside and out. We had the most perfect night, and I just loved photographing you. Thank you so much for celebrating your senior year with me and choosing me to be your senior photographer in Old Lyme, CT. I hope you love your photos as much as I do, and have an amazing senior year, and future ahead!
