I recently met up with this awesome high school senior for her beautiful senior portrait session. We met on a warm August evening at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, CT.
Harkness is a really gorgeous place for high school senior photos, and should always be considered as a possible location for any kind of photo session. There is a beautiful 1900-era mansion to explore, with extensive gardens and hidden paths, as well as a beach. The mansion, gardens and beach all offer a great backdrop for photos. If you haven’t visited Harkness Memorial State Park before, you definitely should check it out!
This high school senior coordinated perfectly with pretty florals and denim, and the beautiful light just highlighted her natural beauty. In addition, she brought her adorable dog! I just love when high school seniors (and families too!) bring their dog. Family dogs always guarantee the best smiles.
Senior sessions are quickly becoming some of my favorite because it is such a fleeting and special time of life. I love being able to capture this special time in a way that highlights who they are as individuals. High school seniors are always wonderful to work with, and I love hearing about their plans for their senior year and beyond.
Being outside for our sessions highlights the natural beauty around us, while also making it feel very comfortable and less structured than a studio setting. Finding the perfect balance of more formal portraits and candids is something I strive for and I hope you enjoy seeing a look into one of my senior portrait sessions. Thank you for stopping by!
