I met up with this wonderful group for an extended family session last month. We met on beautiful July evening for a family portrait session, at the Saybrook Point Inn, Marina & Spa, in Old Saybrook, CT.
These youthful looking grandparents were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary! And what better way to celebrate and mark the occasion, than with a special weekend getaway at Saybrook Point Inn, and portraits of their whole family together.
This family often travels from New York City to the Saybrook Point Inn. They like to getaway and enjoy the breathtaking marina vistas and waterfront tranquility. My husband and I have enjoyed and eaten many times at Fresh Salt, the fine restaurant at Saybrook Point Inn, so I already knew what a coastal treasure this location is on the Connecticut shoreline.
One of the things I love best about extended family sessions, is seeing the different family dynamics, and amazing bond between cousins, their parents, and their grandparents. And these three cousins were no exception, as they were full of giggles, jokes, and entertainment. As usual, I kept the session moving quickly in order to make sure these cousins were engaged and happy. We had a great time exploring the small park like setting near the marina.
Extended family sessions are so wonderful and they really capture such special moments in time. There is always so much playfulness and laughter and they are some of my favorite sessions to shoot. I hope you enjoy seeing a peek at my time with this great family. <3
