Last week my husband and I took a little trip to beautiful, quaint Cape Cod. The Cape is a very special place for us. Soon after my husband and I met over 30 years ago, we started making almost yearly trips here.
Over the years we have visited, and stayed at many different towns along the Cape. When we first met, we stayed in downtown Hyannis, and Yarmouth, and took day trips to Martha’s Vineyard. After we had our girls we would rent a house for a week (or two) in Dennisport, or West Dennis. One year we stayed on the bay side in Sandwich and had a fantastic time! We took day trips and visited Provincetown, Chattham, and Orleans. We visited many of the different beaches, rode the Cape Cod Rail Trail, ate at many of the fabulous restaurants, and enjoyed lots of Cape Cod ice cream and fudge. And many summers we attended Cape Cod baseball games, which were always so much fun!
Yes, we love Cape Cod. The air smells better in the Cape. The water is softer, and clean. For us, it is quintessential summer in New England.
This year we only had time enough to spend a few days. We made our lunch and brought it to the beach. We enjoyed the amazing thick and creamy New England clam chowder from Captain Parkers. And we enjoyed and loved every second of a magnificent sunset at Mayflower Beach.
I hope you enjoy taking a peek at some of the images I captured while we were here! Thanks for stopping by! <3
