My interests are simple: coffee, workouts, and being outdoors surrounded by beautiful scenery. There’s nothing like getting up early to photograph the sun rising over the CT shoreline. I enjoy taking high school senior portraits, lifestyle newborn photography, and capturing family gatherings in beautiful settings. My goal as a family photographer in Connecticut is to provide easy and comfortable portrait sessions as well as timeless, lasting images.

Family Photography

Last week I blogged about an inspiring photography workshop I took called “What Lies Within” at Click Photo School. This amazing workshop taught me ways to create a vision during my photo shoots, and how to foster connection with my subjects. I needed a family to pose for me for this workshop for critique and feedback. So I placed a model call on my Facebook page. I had a great response! I ended up choosing the most lovely mother and her adorable 8-year-old son as my subjects.

Santina and Gabriel met me at my beach one pretty evening back in June. I was in love with Santina’s long summer dress. Gabriel was dressed in a pair of summery-looking linen pants and top they had gotten on a recent trip to Italy. Perfezione!

I always offer all my clients a detailed Welcome and What-To-Wear Guide to help choose their outfits. I have also started using an online service called Style and Select which is an interactive styling guide and outfit coordination tool. All you have to do is answer a few questions, then complete outfit suggestions are made based on your answers! It’s great. They will even send you links to the outfits you liked. You have the option of purchasing these outfits but of course you don’t have to. It’s nice just to get ideas of what looks good. 🙂

Santina and Gabriel looked perfect together and I was honored to photograph this close-knit mother and son. Santina told me that Gabriel has already overcome a tremendous amount of obstacles in his young life due to a rare genetic disorder called Williams Syndrome. Despite many surgeries he has done beautifully and is such a happy, terrific little boy.

For this mom, these photos are more than just capturing a moment in time but rather documenting his journey, and theirs as a family, and to celebrate all they are thankful for!!!
