I’d say some of the best parts of summer happened over this past week and a half because in there we celebrated the 4th of July. Where I live the 4th of July is celebrated over an entire week of festivities and has become my favorite time of year.
/100 – Summer evening at Water’s Edge. It was such a pretty night when we went to the outdoor bar and restaurant at The Water’s Edge on a Friday night with friends.
/100 – 4th of July sunrise.
/100 – Hot summer afternoons. Oh how they make me so happy.
/100 – Every neighborhood should have a 4th of July parade. This is my favorite image I have captured so far because of this simple little parade we have every year. All the children carry flags and march down the street together. The adults follow and in one of the neighbor’s yards we gather together at the flag pole and sing God Bless America. Love it!!
/100 – Fireworks up and down the shoreline. I have seen fireworks before, but never like the ones where I now live. From my backyard I can see them going off up and down the shoreline of Old Saybrook, plus fireworks going off on either end of the beaches. It amazes me every year. I was also excited to shoot the fireworks this year because of the landscape workshop I had taken over the spring gave me new knowledge on how to shoot light trails and night photography.
/100 – Bonfires, s’mores and sparklers. More of the week’s festivities.
/100 – A week full of family, friends and great weather. I love the glow-y sun flare I captured in this image.
/100 – Stormy days make the best sunsets. Love the cotton candy skies against the flowers in my backyard.
/100 – Sweet Summertime. I was walking down the street with my daughter and her friends and we came upon this Italian Ice truck!
/100 – His favorite seat. What a seat to relax, smoke a cigar and enjoy the amazing view.
/100 – The neighborhood gang. My neighborhood is overflowing with visiting families during the week of the 4th.
/100 – July 13th is a very special day because it is my youngest daughter’s birthday. This girl, my baby, my Caitlin Ann. She is my gift from God and the light of our lives
/100 – This way to the beach! My daughter made me that sign for Mother’s Day.
/100 – The carnival is in town! I went to the carnival in town just to capture the lights of the rides and ended up getting a fried dough and birch beer. It was a very successful evening. 🙂
I brought my tripod and used a slow shutter speed to capture the lights of the ferris wheel and other lights and love how this came out!
/100 – Steamy July sunsets. I actually took this image with another photographer and very good friend of mine right next to me making for a very special evening.
