I had the absolute best time photographing Maddy’s senior portraits at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, CT. This park is one of the most stunning places in the state—especially when the roses are in full bloom. Maddy reached out after reading this blog post about Kate’s senior session at Elizabeth Park and told me she wanted something similar for her own shoot. We timed her session perfectly for mid June, when the roses are at their peak—and they truly did not disappoint.

It’s known for its breathtaking rose garden—one of the oldest and most celebrated in the country—but the park also offers so much more. From vine-covered arbors to stone bridges and open grassy areas, there are endless backdrops to work with. The setting gives every session a dreamy, whimsical feel while still allowing for a natural, relaxed vibe.
This made it the perfect spot for Maddy. Her soft style and love of reading fit right in with the timeless charm of the gardens. We even brought in her current read for a few creative photos that felt totally “her.”

Maddy was so easygoing and sweet—truly a natural in front of the camera. Her quiet confidence came through in every shot, and I loved capturing a mix of posed and candid moments throughout the park. From the rose garden to the shaded stone paths, she brought this whole session to life with her personality and style.
